2004 Tillamook Co. Futures Council Report
To assist in charting the Museum’s future the Pioneer Association Executive Board and the Museum Board
engaged the Tillamook County Futures Council, to lead a community visioning process to assist in developing
a long-range strategic plan, designed to guide and strengthen the Museum’s ability to reach and serve the
whole Tillamook County community.
The Tillamook County Futures Council, which was created in 1997 by the Tillamook County Board of
Commissioners and serves at their pleasure. Charged with being the stewards of the county’s vision the
Futures Council is experienced at gathering citizen input and leading community meetings.
The Futures Council agreed to host a series of meetings at various dates & cities in Tillamook County in the
fall of 2004. On August 30th the Tillamook County Board of Commissioners gave their full support to the
Museum as we entered into this process. Following the series of community meetings a survey was prepared
and distributed to various community groups.
