The Library maintains these files for family history preservation and as a resource for genealogical research.

Examples of the types of information that may be found in the files are:

  • Genealogy charts such as Family Sheets, Pedigrees, and Lineages.

  • Family biographical information and unpublished family books.

  • Transcribed oral histories.

  • Cemetery records, grave locations and funeral information. (Obituaries from local newspapers are indexed and kept in a separate file.)

TCPM OBITUARY INDEX:

Covering the years 1955 - 2004

The source of this index is a file of obituary clippings that have been taken from various newspapers. The file is maintained by the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum. If you know of corrections that should be made, or want additional information or copies of the original obituary, please e-mail Ruby Fry-Matson at
ruby@tcpm.org.

The Obituary Index contains the following information: last name, first name, date of death, year of death, date of birth, year of birth, place of birth, spouse name, maiden name, father's name, mother's name. Not all information is available for every obituary. There may be more than one obituary listing for a particular individual. This may occur because an obituary was printed in more than one newspaper, or a corrected obituary was printed by a newspaper. No corrections or modifications were made to names, dates, places, etc. They appear in the Index as they were printed in the newspaper.

The Obituary Index:

The Obituary Index has been divided alphabetically (by last name)  into separate files for faster loading, viewing and searching.
